There are many hotels and vacation rentals to stay, Please do read the reviews of the vacation rentals to make sure it is right for you. Sometimes the pictures are of the rooftop and not the room so be careful. You may not have the oceanview you thought you were going to have. Vacation rentals such as Airbnb are more affordable than many hotels.

Maui is just not only superb beaches. There is so much to see and do. Take a tour or drive up to the top of Haleakala, Maui’s 10,000 foot volcano which is dormant, but not extinct.

It last erupted in the 18th century, which geologically speaking is not very log ago. When you get up there it looks like Mars. You can hike and see the vistas. Bring warm clothing.   

Then, see Maui’s famous road to Hana where you can pull off to the side of the road ad see dozes of waterfalls. You can swim, sunbathe and get back on the road and explore more. This is the rainy side of the island, this thus waterfalls, so prepare, and bring mosquito spray, water, etc.

Waianapanapa Park, MaujiRight before Hana is Waianapanapa State Park, where you can see and swim on a black sand beach. Then walk along the old “Kings Highway” for as long as you want and see blowholes, lava rock formations, and the beautiful scenery.
